Welcome to the Telecommunication's

Placing Telephone Calls

To dial outside the College, students must first dial 8 from residence halls, apartments, or townhouses. To dial outside our local area, enter 8 and then:

  • If using an STC PIN#: area code and telephone number (remember to dial 1 before the area code if calling outside of area code '215').  At the series of beeps, enter your STC PIN#.
  • If using a calling card or credit card: dial the 1-800 number on your card and follow the instructions on placing a phone call.

The University has two telephone exchanges: '951' & '713'.  All telephone numbers in the residence halls and townhouses begin with '951'; all telephone numbers is Independence Plaza begin with '713'.  Even though there are two exchanges, you do not need to dial the exchange if calling from on-campus.  For example, if you live in Ronson and are calling a student at Franklin Complex, you only need to dial the extension number (e.g. xxxx).
