Q. How do I view my e-mail messages?

A. There are 2 ways in which to view your e-mail messages:

Method #1: Double-click on the message you would like to review. This will bring up a window, in which only the selected message is displayed.

Method #2: From the toolbar, select the icon that looks like a page with black and blue writing on it (second from the right.) Once this is selected any message you highlight will appear on the bottom of the main screen.

Q. How do I access my deleted items folders?

A. Follow the directions below. If you need assistance at any point during the setup process, or have any additional questions, please call the Technology Help Desk at 215-951-4OIT (x4648.)

  1. Click the FOLDERS tab, located on the top left side of the page. Then click “Deleted Items”
  2. Then click on the DELETED ITEMS icon

Q. How do I activate my new mail message audio message alert?

A. This feature is turned on by default, and requires speakers to play the audio alert.

Follow the directions below. If you need assistance at any point during the setup process, or have any additional questions, please call the Technology Help Desk at 215-951-4OIT (x4648.)

  1. Click OPTIONS, located on the along left side of the SHORTCUTS tab
  2. Then scroll down to E-MAIL OPTIONS
  3. Check PLAY A SOUND WHEN NEW MAIL ARRIVES

Q. How do I activate my new mail message screen alert?

A. This feature is turned on by default.

  1. Click OPTIONS, located on the along left side of the SHORTCUTS tab
  2. Then scroll down to E-MAIL OPTIONS
  3. Check DISPLAY A NOTIFICATION WHEN MAIL ARRIVES

Q. How do I delete mail from my Outlook Web Account?

  1. Select the email that you want to delete.
  2. Then left click on the black color cross sign on the taskbar above inbox and that email will be deleted.

Q. How do I delete my deleted items from the folder in Outlook Web Access?

  1. Left click on ‘empty deleted items folder’ on the taskbar above inbox.

Q. What is the domain for faculty and staff?

A. The domain for faculty and staff is PHILACOL

Q. Why can't I log into my Outlook Web Access?

A. If you are unable to access your e-mail account using Outlook Web Access, it may be due to the following:

  1. Your caps lock key may be on
  2. You are using the incorrect password
  3. Your password has expired

Q. Why am I unable to recover my deleted Items?

A. Students do not have access to this feature.

Q. Why do my calendar reminders pop up every 5 minutes?

A. When your alert screen appears, make sure that you SAVE the snooze time in the pull-down menu of the OPTIONS window before pressing SNOOZE or you will dismiss the reminder.

Q. Why Can't I Configure My POP3 E-Mail Client ( Outlook Express, Eudora, etc.) to Access my Messages from my Philadelphia 
University E-Mail Account? 

A. Philadelphia University does not support POP2 E-Mail, instead we use Outlook Web Access as our remote access e-mail client.
