Day of Service will be in place of classes on Tuesday, Sept. 27. Service projects will take place at various times throughout the day, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. All classes are cancelled through 5 p.m. Evening classes beginning after 5 p.m. will meet as scheduled.

The University will be open at the basic services level. Security, admissions and several other offices will be staffed as needed. Supervisors in all offices will decide who staffs the offices that will be open.

All employees and student workers should check with their supervisors about whether they are scheduled to work for some part of that day and should plan to fit volunteer service in during other hours of the day. Staff members that do not participate in Day of Service activities must report to work for normal business hours.

2011 Day of Service Project Registration Form:
Faculty and staff who would still like to register a project can do so by completing the Project Registration Form. If you are planning or would like to plan a Day of Service 2011 project for your class, group or department, please submit the following Project Registration Form by Thursday, September 8.

This form is for the project site or faculty/staff project leader to fill out. It includes contact information for the project site coordinator, which is used to cultivate projects in following years. It also gives the project time, location and group size, so the committee can make transportation and scheduling arrangements. Once you complete the Project Registration Form, a member of the Day of Service Committee will email you to confirm your project.

Volunteers will be notified by email a week prior to Day of Service. Information provided to you will include the name of your Project Leader, contact information, the project name and location, a start time and the length of time your project will take. The Project Leader will also be in contact with you to notify you when and where to meet on the Day of Service.
